Olympic Live App
OLIVE
Project Type: Group Work
Project Length: 13 weeks
Our Story
Project Brif Remote live broadcasts have become essential for Olympic audiences worldwide. However, current methods often fail to provide a truly personalized experience, leaving some users disconnected from less-popular events they care about, lacking immersive viewing, and missing interactive engagement that centers on the Olympic competitions themselves. Goals This project seeks to create a seamless and immersive remote viewing experience for Olympic fans worldwide. Designed as a user-centric mobile app, it brings the thrill of live events to remote audiences by offering personalized content, real-time interactivity, and easy access to schedules and updates. By addressing common challenges of remote broadcasts—such as limited access to niche events and a lack of engaging interactive elements—the app fosters a sense of presence, solidarity, and exclusivity, allowing users to connect deeply with the Olympic spirit from anywhere in the world. Outcomes A fully developed and user-friendly mobile application designed to enhance the remote Olympic viewing experience through personalized features.

Skill Development
This project was not just about creating an app. It was a valuable opportunity to develop technical software skills, specifically in wireframe design and Figma prototyping. Mastering these tools has not only strengthened my approach to user-centered design but also brought structure and creativity to the process. These skills enable me to visualize and refine app interfaces effectively, establishing a strong foundation for crafting engaging and intuitive digital experiences in future projects.

Challenges and Reflections
Throughout the Olive project, several key challenges and improvement areas emerged. The complexity of the "Favorite" interface made navigation cumbersome, limiting users' ability to access preferred content quickly. This indicated a need for a more straightforward layout and enhanced visual hierarchy. Limited athlete data tracking also highlighted a gap in user engagement, suggesting the value of adding more detailed statistics and customizable tracking options. The event reminder feature, often overlooked due to low visibility, could benefit from enhanced accessibility and dynamic alerts to ensure timely updates. Additionally, the search interface occasionally needed to align with users' preferences, indicating a need for a smarter, more personalized experience. These insights underscore the importance of ongoing user feedback and iterative design refinement in crafting an intuitive and immersive user experience.

About Our Team
Contributions
In this group project, my primary contribution as Yifei Wang was designing the mobile website prototype. I focused on creating a match reminder feature and a function for following specific athletes, enabling users to receive personalized updates on their favorite events and athletes.
Yuling developed the VR prototype, providing users with a multi-perspective, immersive viewing experience. Raine led the desktop website prototype, emphasizing real-time interaction during events and facilitating post-game discussions. Each of us was responsible for a different platform, and our combined efforts enhanced the project's functionality and user experience, creating a cohesive and engaging product across all devices.
